What is Binge-Eating Disorder

Binge-eating disorder is a serious eating disorder in which a person continuously consumes a large amount of food in a short period of time and feels unable to stop eating. It is the most ordinary eating disorder among Americans. If you have a BED, you may feel embarrassed about overeating and loss control afterward & If You think that you can’t resist the urge and keep bingeing. 1. Genetical history: You are more likely to have an eating disorder if your parent or sibling has an eating disorder. This may indicate that inherited genes increase the risk of an eating disorder.

2. Dieting: Numerous people with binge-eating disorders have a past of dieting. Dieting or restricting calories during the daytime may begin a desire to Consume more continuously, mainly if you have symptoms of depression (unhappiness).

3. Psychological problem: Numerous people with binge eating disorders feel adverse about themselves, their skills, and their achievements. Bingeing includes depression, bad body image, and the availability of indulgent foods promotes the risk of Binge eating disorder.

4. Social and cultural aspects: Stressful life events, such as violence, car accident, death, separation from a family member are risk factors that promote BED. Social pressure to stay slim and critical statements about your body or weight can make you more vulnerable to BED.

Most people with BED are bulky or obese, but if you may be at a normal weight. Behavioral and emotional signals and symptoms of the binge-eating disorder include:

  • Consuming/having a huge amount of meal in a small period of time.
  • Eating regularly without feeling hungry.
  • Eating until uncomfortably full or complete.
  • Continually eating alone or in secret.
  • Emotions of guilt or disgust with oneself.
  • Repeatedly dieting, possibly without weight loss

Treatment:

There are no special procedures to manage the binge-eating disorder, but if you have symptoms of binge eating, then take advice from an eating disorder clinic.
